Amanda Greene
You'll have to bear with me - one of my best AND worst traits is being passionate about too many things! What started as a business idea to do videograhy has morphed into something bigger and better. Through word of mouth and a "we can do that!" kind of attitude, we grew in unanticipated directions: Rise & Shine has morphed into a general media production company, specializing in websites, videos, and photography. Let's just say we are letting our garden grow as tall and fruitful as it wishes!
I was inspired to start Rise & Shine because I was asked to film a wedding for a wonderful couple who heard my name from a friend. After spending the day documenting their amazing event I felt like I was floating. I felt so satisfied. I felt like I was at my best! Then it ended up I wasn't the only one feeling great - my clients were so pleased with their video that I knew it was time for me to follow my passion. I needed to start making movies!!
Not only do I love film, but I LOVE being involved with weddings. Weddings are magical! Weddings are uniting - not only the bride and groom, but a family and a community. Our world should be CONSTANTLY feeling the joy, gratitude and happiness that we experience at a wedding.
Beyond weddings, I am so excited about helping families, local businesses and nonprofits capture their visions. There are so many ways that a video can improve your businesses visibility, fundraise for your nonprofit, or catch those amazing moments in your life.
In regards to website creation, I have been a webmaster for a local nonprofit for many years and have greatly expanded my portfolio and experience. Besides having a love for technical work, I have a BA in English and Philosophy and a heart for the arts. My previous experience allows me to be very efficient in creating websites, as I have experience with design, writing, visual media, and programming - allowing me to find a balance between the essentials of a website. I really enjoy working on local websites, as they allow me to learn more about our community's wonderful organizations. I am a total sucker for nonprofits and love helping them work towards accomplishing their mission.
Overall, I am a passionate person - I love film, I love technology, I love people, I love doing good work. These traits are all in your favor - because I will go the extra mile to make something incredible for you. My job will be to bring out the best in you.
Laine Donaldson
I love all things film and have been making movies since I was old enough to hold a camera. Whether it was making improvised comedies with my siblings and friends, or stop-motion videos of my legos and action figures, I was always making movies!
Over the years I continued making movies for fun, and by the time I got to college I knew that I had to continue pursuing my passion for filmmaking. In 2012 I graduated from Portland State University where I earned a double major in Film and History. I focused my studies on documentary production, and developed a strong love and passion for it!
Since graduating I have worked as a film editor and freelance videographer filming concerts, promotional videos, and more. I love what I do, and look forward to each new project. I still have the same zest and enthusiasm today for filmmaking that I had when I first started making movies as a kid!
